Our History

We moved to this beautiful valley near Llanidloes in 1997. After years of playing around on rented land, in Autumn 2011 we purchase 5 acres of Organic land from Richard & Michelle Becker, their 60 acre Organic farm still surrounds our little market garden.

This beautiful valley is home to the river Severn (the longest river in the UK).

We are situation 3 miles from the small market town of Llanidloes, the first town on the river.

Here we have compiled a selection of pictures documenting the development of the land and summarising the conversion of 5 acres of Welsh grassland into a diverse productive permaculture market garden. A lot has changed since the beginning. We are now a diverse productive commercial horticultural enterprise. Our agroecological principles have built habitats for wildlife, created nature reconnection space for our local community and provided meaningful employment and training opportunities.
